What Are the New Electric Car Tax Credits?

With the electric car tax credit enhancements, the established EV credit of up to $7,500 is extended until 2032.1 Also, the vehicle's final assembly must take place in the U.S. to qualify, with U.S.-based materials sourcing requirements to become more stringent immediately and over time. These EV tax incentive extensions and enhancements aim to promote domestic manufacturing by removing the limit of qualifying vehicles produced by car brands, like Ford.
